Overcoming Customs Hurdles in Chair Shipment

Client: A medium-sized furniture manufacturer in Nansha, China, with a new line of ergonomic office chairs.
Destination: MATADI, D.R. CONGO

This shipment faced some challenges at the customs clearance stage in the D.R. CONGO. The local customs authorities had specific requirements regarding the import of furniture items, including detailed product descriptions and certifications. Our local agents in MATADI immediately sprang into action. They worked closely with the customs officials, providing all the requested information and documentation in a timely manner. Meanwhile, we kept the client informed about the situation and assured them that we were doing everything possible to resolve the issue. After a few days of intense negotiations and paperwork, the shipment was cleared and delivered to the consignee. Although the overall transit time was extended by a week, reaching 42 days, the client was satisfied with our proactive approach and the successful outcome. They were able to start marketing their chairs in the local market and received a good response from customers.
